We run two group meetings with a shared topic. All current members and also prospective students who’d like to learn what we do are invited to join.

In the fall semester of 2024, we cover topics including:

  • machine learning for medicine:
    • wearable device data, cardiovascular image analysis, ICU streaming data
  • interpretable statistical learning:
    • symbolic regression and density estimation
    • integer regression and statistical scoring
  • statistical theory and computation
    • large Bayesian models
    • Gaussian processes (theory and computation)
    • guaranteed uncertainty quantification in Bayesian inference

We meet twice a week in Maxfield 129:
